The Purpose of First Baptist Church is:

• To earnestly contend for the faith; to maintain the ministry of teaching, preaching, and counseling from a Christian perspective. We strive to encourage a committed relationship to the Lord Jesus Christ in all of our fellow believers.  

• To share the Gospel of Christ with the community, both collectively and individually, to the end that many will come to a saving knowledge of Christ

• To support and encourage all fundamentally sound Christ-centered works of ministry; locally and around the world

• To meet collectively, as a body, for prayer, teaching, worship and fellowship

First Baptist Church is CONSERVATIVE in perspective, as opposed to the more liberal bent of many churches; believing and teaching the Bible as the sole authority for all of our beliefs and practices.

First Baptist Church is INDEPENDENT in affiliation, in that we are not connected with any denominational body. The governing authority rests solely within our local body, with Christ as our Head.
